When we think of back-to-school time, we typically visualize a list of school supplies we have to procure and bedtimes that have to be much earlier than what they have been over the past few months. And when it comes to stocking your kitchen, having the right foods for after school snack time routine is a must.

In my home, we love using Florida Orange Juice in our after school snack recipes for a boost of sweetness with no added sugar, some extra hydration support, and some additional key nutrients that help support immune health. Like many children, my daughter comes home famished, so being armed with healthy snacks is key for surviving the afternoon.

Sure, my daughter can enjoy a glass of Florida Orange Juice as a beverage choice, and she certainly does just that quite frequently. But my kiddo also enjoys noshing on other snacks that are created with 100% OJ as a prominent ingredient.

So, what can you make with orange juice? So glad you asked! From smoothies to fruit pops to even yogurt bark, Florida OJ is a surprisingly versatile snack ingredient that appeals to tiny taste buds and hungry bellies.

When it comes to healthy snacking, there’s no better way to treat yourself than with The Original Wellness Drink! Florida OJ contains a unique package of nutrients to help support your immune system, it contains no added sugars, and it is naturally comprised of nearly 90% water, making it a hydrating addition to many dishes.

Among the many dishes you can make with Florida Orange Juice, here are three of our favorites that my daughter enjoys on repeat during the busy school year.

100% orange juice Green Smoothie

If your child doesn’t touch a piece of fruit or veggies during the school day, this smoothie is a must to help them make up for lost time. Combining spinach with naturally sweet 100% OJ, banana, and mango makes this smoothie totally kid-approved, while also providing several key nutrients.

Serving Size: 2 Kid-Sized Servings (Kids ages 1-6: 4-6 ounce serving / Kids 7+ and Adults: 8 ounce serving)

1 cup Florida Orange Juice

1 cup washed and dried baby spinach

1 cup frozen mango chunks

½ medium banana, previously frozen

1 tablespoon ground flax seeds

1 cup ice

Instructions

Add all ingredients in a blender. Blend until smooth. Pour into 2 cups and enjoy.

Florida Orange Juice Frozen Yogurt Bark

If your kiddo loves ice cream or fro-yo, then they will love this snack. Made with simple ingredients and containing several important nutrients, this easy-to-make snack will certainly please. Bonus? This snack is simple enough to make that your little one can help you whip it up in the kitchen.

Serving Size: 6 servings

Ingredients:

2 cups whole fat vanilla yogurt

½ cup Florida Orange Juice

¼ cup chia seeds

¼ cup high-protein granola

Instructions

Line a baking sheet with wax paper and set it aside.

In a mixing bowl, mix yogurt and Florida OJ until combined.

Transfer the yogurt mixture to a prepared baking sheet and spread it around to an even thickness.

Sprinkle top with chia seeds and granola.

Place baking sheet in freezer for 3 hours or until firm. Break up into pieces and enjoy.

Florida Orange Juice Fruit Pops

Why buy store-bought fruit pops when you can make your own? With just a few simple ingredients and the right equipment, you can be enjoying homemade pops in no time. Using Florida Orange Juice in this pop recipe helps make these treats sweet without the need for any added sugar. While this recipe calls for coconut milk, feel free to use any milk of your liking instead of the coconut variety.
